Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our members, Our Enduring Legacy: The Campaign to Preserve, Educate, and Inspire has exceeded every expectation. Together, we raised an incredible $165 million—surpassing our original $125 million goal and completing the most successful campaign in the history of battlefield preservation.
This remarkable achievement is already making a lasting difference. Campaign support has enabled the American Battlefield Trust to accelerate the preservation of thousands of acres of our nation's most hallowed ground at battlefields across the country, while also interpreting and restoring these landscapes and expanding innovative educational programs, digital resources, and classroom products that bring American history to life for millions of learners.

Our Mission, Our Priorities
The Our Enduring Legacy campaign brings us closer to our goal of protecting the nation's historic battlefields, enhancing learning experiences, and stirring the American spirit. More about these three priorities:
1. PRESERVE AMERICA’S HALLOWED BATTLEFIELDS
The American Battlefield Trust defends and restores our nation’s endangered battlefields.
Through the campaign, we have created the Trust’s first Battlefield Readiness Fund, a new funding vehicle that gives us the power to act quickly and compete effectively against developers to save endangered historic land at 40 Top Priority Battlefields. This fund has proved transformative and has allowed the Trust to save 3,273 acres of hallowed ground during the campaign.
2. EDUCATE PEOPLE ABOUT OUR NATION’S HISTORY
The American Battlefield Trust brings American history to life in unique and memorable ways.
Through the campaign we have prepared America’s battlefields with our engaging, exciting, and educational interpretation programs. Thanks to your support, we can ensure future generations can connect with the struggles, triumphs, and lessons of history.
3. INSPIRE LASTING APPRECIATION FOR AMERICAN HISTORY
The American Battlefield Trust creates transformative experiences on the battlefield that can lead to a lifelong passion for history and service.
Thanks to your support, we can continue to inspire curiosity and connection to the places where history unfolded. Our battlefields provide some of the nation’s best outdoor classrooms, and your gifts have allowed students, teachers, and families to engage with history in powerful, meaningful ways.
